What grades I think other groups are at.

Sheida - Level 5
You have a range of shot types, your trailer is exiting to watch, but by the end it gets a little less exiting. You used just one sound which was a little boring, but it did fit the trailer very well. Editing is very well done. Its alittle bit hard to understand what's going on, but I get a small idea. It does hold my attention at the beginning and later it gets a bit boring. Over all, I like it!

Genia - Level 5
Very nice range of shots, keeps me interested, brings a lot of emotion in me, so it is used very effectively. The editing fits perfectly, but some shots are not well linked. The sounds are good, dramatic, I like it.

Practical work 18/11/11

For practical work today, we have learnt:

  • More options how to use a tripod.
  • How to make the person look certain way by using different shots, backgrounds, and light. Using these, we can make a person look confused, powerful, weak etc without the person making any face expressions (just standing still, say it was just a statue).
  • How to make shots look more realistic, and not give  a feeling of the camera, or a tripod.

We have filmed many shots to represent what we have learnt. That will be uploaded and analysed.

Submarine

What sort of feeling and impact can music video have and what effect could a music video-style sequence achieve in a film?
It could help the movie to show the image and the mood of the film by using specific set in a music video. The lyrics can also help to tell the draft of the story and what might happen in the movie and show it in a musical way which can get a lot of attention.  The artist of a music video could be popular which can also attract more people to watch the movie.

Can you think of other films which features extended montage sequences that are quite like music videos?
I think they use it in many movies such as Eclipse, the music plays while no one is talking and it just goes through memories of the main character. Or Lord of the Rings when the music plays bringing the mood of the movie while everyone is in slow emotion fighting for their future.

Review of my Survey

Honestly i'm not very proud of my work. At first it froze and could not get saved.
My second try went pretty well, i think i had good questions for people to answer. But again now that i check it many people have answered but it turned out to be on completely different topic that I did not write - something went wrong again.
So my www: I have thought of good questions for the questionnaire - I had about 20 questions.
ebi: Check my work carefully next time and make sure everything goes right.
Sorry sir, i will try again and post it on my blog soon.

 Some reviews from Rotten Tomatoes:
-Action-packed entertainment builds around efforts, not to prevent the destruction of the planet, but to plan for the continuation of the human race.
-I can't claim to have seen every terrible film in cinematic history, but in my fairly extensive watchography, 2012 is certainly in the top 5 worst ever.

The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King

Some reviews from Rotten Tomatoes:
-A tale of heroes, bonded together by friendship, it's the very special friendship between hobbits Elijah Wood's Frodo and Sean Astin's Sam that touches us most of all.
-Jackson finishes the epic with a flourish that leaves all other big screen fantasies thoroughly humbled.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Synopsis: A young boy discovers he's the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods. Based on the book by Rick Riordan.

Some reviews from Rotten Tomatoes:
-A fun, effects-filled, escapist adventure, with several clever notions: Medusa sells garden statuary as a cover, and the Parthenon in Nashville is home to a hydra.
-It looks like the characters of color in Percy Jackson have been paired off, a remarkable choice in a movie that is, in essence, about the glories of half-breeds.

I think that tharget audience is for children because there are kids involved in the commercial only, I would say that target audience could be on teenagers too because they would find that halerious and fun to watch. It is for both genders since there is a boy and a girl in the video.
The location of this commercial is in photographers place because you can see the lightning and camera in the set. The small girls dress is purple, it links to the Cadbury Chocolate’s  package colour. Both kids are sitting on the chair waiting for the man to come back and take the picture. The commercial is very light, you can tell it’s a day time, plus they have lightning directed on them so it seems even more lighter.
In the first part of the commercial you see two kids sitting on the chairs carelessly and bored, you can tell that by their body language (long shot). Since  in the commercial their eyebrows move to the rhythm of the melody, they use close up to their face. The melody sounds like a phone ringtone ( the guy in the first scene got a phone call) it is fast and playful, like a online game.
I think this commercial is very silly, but it has humour in it and is fun to watch. I would give the target age from 6-15.

Homework Advertisement Analysing

This is an advertisement for  Avril Lavigne online shop.  It is very colourful, full of different colours.  Pink is the main colour that stands out the most – logo, it stands out.  Next to the logo is one and the only Avril Lavigne – it is a mid-shot image, you can see half oh her body, but we can still see her face expression,  just by looking and her wide open eyes and mouth we can say she is shocked ( in a good way of course). We can see her nice black and white top, which is very fashionable, she has a very funky, punk , girly look, which probably describes the type of clothes she’s gonna have in the “Abbey Dawn” online shop. We all know Avril and what kind of type/style she is, she is a role model for many girl teenagers that are “addicted to” her style and that means that they are going to be “addicted to Abbey Dawn” store that says in the advert.  By the clothes on the hangers at the background anyone can tell this is a clothes store.  The logo has very stylish attractive pink colour and it is very big that takes the most space,  its font is very unusual and it would be the first thing to attract eyes. It seems as if Avrl is looking at it.  So as I said before the audience are teenage girls from 14 – 18 age. The girls who enjoy to look nice and stylish and not scared to be over dressed,  girls who are interested in fashion and the style of punk/funky clothes, the fans of Avril Lavigne or girls who are addicted to her style.
